L.F. Seymour of Farwell (Mich.) won the bid to construct a gravel road, located mostly in Ionia County and a bit of Kent County (Mich.). Seymour and Frank F. Rogers, the then State Highway Commissioner, signed the contract on Oct. 1, 1920. Seymour later sued for $10,663.21, his unpaid balance. He was eventually paid. He completed two years at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, then transferred to the University of Michigan where he received his B.A. in 1943.
